Dwayne Rettinger is an Executive Financial Consultant at IG Private Wealth Management. He has offered financial guidance and planning at IG Wealth Management since 2007.
At IG Private Wealth Management, Dwayne Rettinger leads a team in consulting with individuals, business owners, and executives on all forms of investment decisions to build and protect their wealth, with a focus on investment and retirement planning, group retirement plans, estate planning, cash management and tax planning. Dwayne’s top priority is to make sure clients avoid unnecessary exposure to financial risk.
Dwayne earned his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario after he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Dwayne started at IG Wealth Management as a Senior Financial Consultant. After five years, Dwayne became a Division Director, charged with building IG Wealth Management and recruiting and managing talent to meet Canada’s growing demand for first-rate financial planning.
Dwayne served as a Managing Director at BearingPoint in Toronto before joining IG Wealth Management, and was responsible for the firm’s Canadian Commercial Services practice. Before BearingPoint, Dwayne held various positions at KPMG prior to being made partner at the firm in 1999. Dwayne served as vice president at the firm from 2000 to 2002, and was responsible for KPMG’s Eastern Canada communications and utilities practice in that role.
Dwayne Rettinger earned his Certified Financial Planner designation through Canada’s Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC). He is distinguished for being a member of the FPSC Presidents List, indicating his placement in the top 1 percent of CFP exam candidates in Canada in 2009 when he took the exam.
Dwayne, his wife, and their three children live in Oakville. He is an active community member, and serves as a hockey coach there. He also actively assists with United Way fundraising.
